Berwick Energy Partnership

Direct Load Control Program

The Berwick Electric Commission operates electrical service for the Town of Berwick. The Commission is managing the Berwick Direct Load Control Program which involves the installation of electricity control device(s) on Customers’ premises for the purpose of reducing peak demand for the Commission during the months of December, January and February each year. The resulting cost savings are passed on to customers in the form of controlled electricity rates. There will be no cost to the Customer.

Direct Load Control also assists with the integration of energy from renewable sources into the Commission’s territory. Direct Load Control will increase in importance over time and may lead to further opportunities for your participation.

Property Assessed Clean Energy Program

AMG Energy is proud to partner with the Town of Berwick, NS in the administration of a number of energy projects. AMG Energy administers the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program on behalf of the town. The program works by the Town of Berwick offering fixed-rate low-interest loans to residents for energy efficient upgrades. This money can be used to upgrade the home or commercial property with attic and foundation insulation, energy efficient windows and doors, heat pumps and more. This means that the property owner does not have to pay a large sum up front.
